Annotation:

The study evaluates the potential of polymer flooding for the Agadem oil field in the Republic of Niger. The review section of the article highlights the advantages of polymer flooding compared to other enhanced oil recovery methods, discusses the impact of reservoir heterogeneity on development performance, and emphasizes the necessity of comprehensive reservoir property studies for accurate technological forecasts. Calculations in the work were performed using the tNavigator simulator on multiple synthetic reservoir models with properties similar to those of the Sokor reservoir in the Agadem field. The article focuses on analyzing the permeability heterogeneity of the productive reservoir and the potential for varying the polymer solution concentration. The results of numerical simulations are presented, showing the effects of permeability variations and polymer concentration on oil recovery and water cut dynamics. Based on the calculations, the optimal polymer solution concentration was determined, and the correlation between solution concentration and the duration of water-free oil production was established.
