Annotation:

The article examines a number of aspects of the history and achievements of Gubkin University in connection with its 95th anniversary. The role of the university in the training of personnel for the industry, the development of fundamental and applied research, which allowed the creation of domestic technologies for the search, exploration, production, transport and processing of hydrocarbons, was noted. The issues related to the development of the university in recent decades are considered, which convincingly demonstrate the university's leadership in many fields of science and education.
