Annotation:

New factual material on the saturation of Jurassic-Cretaceous sediments with hydrocarbons (HC) makes it possible to significantly clarify and detail the vertical deep zoning of the predominant hydrocarbon saturation of the entire sedimentary section and the atmosphere beyond the Arctic Circle of the Western Siberia. The features of the predominant all spheres gas saturation of the region are directly related to the heterogeneity of the degree of rocks transformation over the area and section of the Arctic sector of the West Siberian oil- and gas-bearing megaprovince (OGMP). The paper discusses the factors that influenced the indicated heterogeneity of catagenesis and the accompanying process of oil and gas formation: thermodynamic, tectonodynamic as well as the influence of permafrost. It resulted in stating the fact that the gas (gas condensate) environment occupies the entire volume of the Arctic region of the West Siberian oil- and gas-bearing basin (from the basement to the soil layer) and extends to those areas where oil deposits are available in significant numbers.
