Annotation:

The use of wastes of the forest industry complex (hereinafter – FIC) as a raw material for getting sorbent materials (hereinafter – SM) on their basis, which can be used when eliminating oil spills is researched. The main waste streams of the forestry complex and material resources receipt on their basis are analyzed. The objects of the research are strobila (hereinafter referred to as cones) and needles of common spruce Pícea ábies, which are large-tonnage forestry waste of FIC. The article defines the initial sorption properties of both native and activated materials. A method has been proposed for the activation of FIC waste in order to increase the sorption and selective properties in relation to oil. The dependences of the activating agents influence on the materials sorption characteristics after each activation method were established, and the optimal conditions for thermochemical activation of the objects under study were selected. The materials, obtained by this method application, with analog sorbents described in specialized literary sources are comparatively analyzed. It is proposed to use waste of FIC as a raw material for secondary processing and production of SM on their basis using thermochemical activation.
