Analysis of quaternary deposits affecting the character of the environment oil pollution

Annotation:

Rather often natural landscapes pollution in the areas of oil and gas facilities location are caused by emergency spills of oil and petroleum products occurring due to the technology imperfection (equipment defects, corrosion accidents) and technological regulations violations. The nature of the technogenic impact on the upper part of the geological environment is largely determined by its resistance to oil pollution and the ability to self-purification. In the permafrost conditions the features of the pollutants spatial distribution primarily depend on the lithological composition of quaternary deposits and the depth of seasonal thaw acting as geochemical barriers that can limit the oil pollution migration coming from the Earth surface. In this regard, when developing oil fields, it is relevant to study the ecologically significant functions of quaternary deposits in the conditions of the oil industry intensive development. The article studies the sorption and shielding properties of quaternary deposits in relation to oil pollution in the northern part of the Sorokin swell as well as its zoning is performed in respect of the deposits ability to resist the vertical penetration of oil pollution.
