Annotation:
Industrial areas of hydrocarbons and petroleum products storage and transportation are environmentally hazardous facilities. The oil and oil products influence on the environment depends on a number of factors. Conditions, which are typical for the Far North environment, introduce their corrections when assessing petroleum pollution impact on ecosystems. The geoecological assessment of the tank farm territory was carried out on the example of LLC "RN-Sea terminal of Arkhangelsk". The article describes the terminal activities, assesses the geographical, climatic and geological features of the considered area, the hydrodynamic mode of the adjacent water areas. The negative aftereffects for ecosystems as a result of the terminal's activities were revealed and the main sources of pollution were studied during the normal operation mode of the terminal and in case of emergency situations. There are systematized the data on monitoring the state of the terminal areas environment. The results of laboratory studies of oil containing petroleum waste and wastewater are presented here.
