Emissions management modeling by oil refineries to solve the problems of reducing population health risks by attracting the satellite data

Annotation:

The article presents the results of emissions management modeling by enterprises of oil refinery complex in order to reduce the impact of pollutants on the health of people living near refineries. The problem is caused by the fact that sanitary protection zone cannot protect the population from pollution in the situation when production increases. Computational experiments were carried out using the EHIPS software package with the built-in AERMOD distribution model. An oil refinery to the north of Ufa was chosen as an example, and emissions management simulation was run for a 5-day interval when there were serious problems with emission concentrations. The conducted computational experiments have shown that the impulse emissions management can be a fairly effective way to reduce peak health risks in the territories neighboring the oil refinery complex. At the same time, the effect of emissions individual control for each source is greater than that of cumulative emission control.
