Annotation:
The article presents the data on the study of an environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitor made from plant materials. Spruce bark extract was chosen as a natural source. A comparison of the protective properties of this "green" corrosion inhibitor showed that it can effectively protect steel from carbon dioxide corrosion in neutral aqueous solutions, not being inferior to industrially produced inhibitory reagents. Using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, the composition of the main components included in a corrosion inhibitor based on spruce bark extract was established. The morphology of the steel surface in the presence and absence of a "green" corrosion inhibitor was studied using scanning electron microscopy.
