Application of clustering methods to establish the hazard levels of oil and gas wells in the state of conservation and/or liquidation

Annotation:
The analysis of the accident rate of oil and gas production facilities has shown that wells in conservation and/or liquidation (passive wells) state present no less threat than those ones being operated. Based on the analysis of actual data on passive wells in various regions of the Russian Federation using the method of expert assessments, the criteria for assessing the danger of wells, including the human factor (the number of operators and locksmiths, their qualifications and the degree of negligence when conducting operations to control the current state of wells) were determined. Based on the scoring method, an algorithm for calculating the hazard coefficient of a passive well has been developed. A methodological approach to assessing the hazard level of passive wells is proposed. Based on the analysis of the actual data on passive wells in various regions of the Russian Federation, analytical approaches envisaged when using data clustering methods, taking into account current regulatory documents, the hazard levels of passive wells are determined, their characteristics are proposed and corrective actions recommendations for subsurface users and regulatory authorities are developed.
