The authors of the article consider some aspects of creating a wild animal rehabilitation center with the emphasis on the study of oil and petroleum products influence on the ornithofauna. The authors present the results of the analysis of oil pollution impact on birds as well as propose measures for their rehabilitation, taking into account the geo-ecological approach and the measures effectiveness. The general requirements to the organization of the rehabilitation center activity, including the stages of quarantine, medical examination, treatment, feeding and physical recovery of wild animals are discussed. The results of calculations of financial costs for the creation, care and maintenance of the center are presented. The recommendations for improving the effectiveness of measures for wild animals rehabilitation are formulated as well as the necessity of creating specialized rehabilitation centers for birds affected by oil pollution is justified.
