Annotation:

The research studied the efficiency of "Spill-Sorb" sorbent for cleansing soils from oil contamination and its ability to biodegrade petroleum hydrocarbons in Arctic conditions. It was established that the degree of destruction of oil pollution after 65 days of the experiment was 81 %. It was noted that the residual content of petroleum products in soils after remediation was still high, 20 times higher than the background content. It is shown that one vegetation season is not enough for biodegradation of aliphatic hydrocarbons. It is concluded that it is necessary to continue bioremediation works and further monitoring of soil remediation. The conducted research is important for environmentally safe functioning of oil and gas facilities in the Arctic.
