Rating of environmental information openness of Russian oil and gas companies

Annotation:
The authors of the article compare the results of oil and gas companies ESG-rating, compiled by RAEX agency and the environmental information transparency rating done by ACRA. Methodological approaches are analyzed, the leaders among the participants are identified and the possibility of using these ratings as instruments for assessing the environmental focus of companies is assessed. The results of the study will allow investors and stakeholders to get a clearer picture of the environmental activities of oil and gas companies, along with the information, available on the official websites of enterprises, and to make informed decisions based on the data. In turn, participating companies are recommended to use the results of their own rating assessments as an incentive to improve the quality of environmental protection measures.
