The use of a virtual training complex to improve occupational safety when preparing and conducting hazardous work

Annotation:
Gas-hazardous work is considered a dangerous one. The most common types of injuries during gas-hazardous work are poisoning by harmful substances, suffocation and respiratory damage. Non-compliance with the rules of fulfilling high-risk work and non-use of personal protective equipment are among the main causes of industrial accidents. The authors of the article examined dangerous and harmful production factors, personal protective equipment, a list of preparatory measures, and safety requirements for performing gas-hazardous work. To reduce the likelihood of injuries and accidents, it is proposed to use a virtual training complex to obtain and practice theoretical and practical knowledge and skills when carrying out hazardous work to decrease the probability of possible injuries and accidents. It is noted that the virtual training complex should contain the following modes: theory for preparation, testing, training mode, control mode which allow working out various scenarios and apply the learned skills in practice. In case of the incorrect work, the application will signal and visualize an emergency situation. The results of the testing and control mode should be available to the immediate supervisor. The training complex can be used for personnel performing gas-hazardous work at any hazardous production facility.
