Annotation:
The authors of the article note that oil and gas complex is the main producer and consumer of fuels and lubricants and at the same time a source of environmental pollution by toxic emissions of the engines used. Combustion of fuels from mineral raw materials leads to the release of carbon oxides, nitrogen, hydrocarbons, which have a negative impact on the climate and human health. The possibility of replacing petroleum fuels by alternative carbon-free fuels hydrogen and ammonia is being considered. It is shown that the environmental properties of carbon-free fuels are far from the ideal, as during their combustion in engines, nitrogen oxides are released into the environment. It is recommended to solve environmental problems of using alternative carbon-free fuels along with technological and economic ones.
