Annotation:
The granulometric composition of drilling sludge (DS) generated during the development of four fields of "LUKOIL-West Siberia" LLC was studied by the authors of the article. It is shown that the DS sampled in sludge pits have heavy loamy and granulometric composition. It has been revealed that similar heavy-loamy or light-clay granulometric composition is common for other DS deposits of the region. Heavy granulometric composition forms a complex of unsatisfactory water-physical properties, including swelling, stickiness, hydrophilicity, poor water permeability, strong compaction when drying, etc., which together make the DS unsuitable for root development and plant growth. Among the peculiarities of the granulometric composition of DS is a significant content (35…50 %) of sand particles, thus making it possible to apply coagulants, which allow transforming silt particles into larger water-resistant microaggregates. It is recommended to use liquid polymer modifier "Polybond" as a stabilizer of DS, which is widely applied for stabilization of clay soils of ground base in road construction. It is also possible to consider The addition of mineral soils, which are dominated by particles that are finer than silt should be considered as well.
