A new method of refining capacitance-resistance models (CRM) forecasts for wells located in sub-gas zones

Annotation:

Capacitance-resistance modeling (CRM) is a modern instrument for solving a number of problems of geologic-field-analysis of oil deposits development that allows making more quick solutions as compared with commonly used 3D hydrodynamic models. One of the most important problems is oil production rates forecasting, because the efficiency of water-flooding control and oil field development in the whole dramatically depend on the quality of such forecasts. Besides well-known CRM approaches that take into account just water and oil production rates, there described some CRM modifications which allow accounting for gas impact as a separate phase. Such models specify connectivity factors estimation and such important parameters as compensation and share of wells productive injection. However, the use of such models for oil production rates specification is connected with a number of difficulties. The author of the article considers one of the possible methods of solving in practice the problem of oil production rates forecasts improvement by using capacitance-resistance models (CRM), taking into account gas production volumes.
