Annotation:
The authors of the article assess the process of the database import substitution for the information system of a fuel and energy complex corporation from the point of view of a risk-oriented approach. The data of the world ranking of database management systems (DBMS) are provided. The relevance of replacing an imported DBMS by a domestic one with the criterion of minimizing the loss of functionality during such a transition is emphasized. Linguistic, hardware, economic and other types of risks are additionally assessed and analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the description of operational risks, which ultimately determine the consuming qualities of the product at the output of such a transformation. It is noted that only the necessity of implementing a comprehensive and balanced approach with strict control of the entire import substitution process can give an acceptable result in practice.
