Annotation:

The authors of the article provide information about the methods of testing blowout preventer equipment - preventer installation at the wellhead when constructing (drilling) wells. Various plug-packers are mainly usedin modern practice. It is noted that plug-packers are expensive equipment and ineffective in terms of reliability. Unlike drilling, during major workover of operating wells after installing preventers at the wellhead, a technical difficulty associated with pressure testing arises. The pressure testing acts on the production casing string and its filter part. When fluid absorption occurs in the well, it becomes impossible to achieve the required pressure for pressure testing. Claying of the formation that will be exploited in future is also unacceptable. Besides, if the well is being overhauled in water, the preliminary introduction of sand worsens the conditions of its subsequent operation. The application of the rational method of pressure testing by water at the operational pressure of the preventer units used at the wellhead proposed by the authors of the article has a number of advantages. The necessity of using a plug-packer and the additional equipment is completely eliminated. The preventers are pressure tested bywater in the same direction in which they will "feel" pressure during manifestation. The effect of the test pressure on the production casing string is completely eliminated.
