Annotation:
Currently, wells reconstruction using sidetracking method plays a significant role in increasing oil production. Detailed selection of bottomhole assembly (BHA) components, taking into account factors affecting drilling in specific technical, technological and geological conditions, makes it possible to achieve maximum penetration rates and significantly reduce wells construction time. This method allows for the restoration of complicated, damaged, or marginal wells and putting into operation previously unexploited productive horizons by infilling the development pattern, resulting in increased production of the target formation fluid. The analysis of BHA effectiveness used in sidetrack (ST) drilling in the Western Siberian fields during 2021–2024 allowed for the selection of optimal "bit-to-downhole drilling motor (DDM)" combinations depending on wellbore diameter and drilling modes, thus demonstrating potential for improving wells construction performances.
