Annotation:

The article presents a basic technological scheme of "Sputnik" testing gas separator (TGS) and briefly describes the unit operational principle. The main disadvantages of the "Sputnik" metering units associated with the use of a multi-stream switching manifold (MSSM) of a traditional design are discussed. The main approaches to improving the MSSM design are outlined, namely: the use of an electric drive instead of a hydraulic drive in the drive of the MSSM carriage, increase of the wear resistance of the MSSM housing rubbing surface and development of alternative designs of switching device based on three-way ball valves. A general view of the MSSM with an electric drive of the carriage is given and the main structural elements are listed. The solutions are given to improve the wear resistance of the rubbing surfaces of the MSSM housing with explanatory drawings. The technological scheme of the "Spider" type switching device with three-way valves is given. The general view and technical characteristics of the "Gusenitsa" ("Caterpillar") switching device, equipped with three-way valves with electric drives, are given. Brief conclusions on the presented material are given.
