Annotation:

An integrated wells spacing optimization system (IWSOS) along an uneven grid on a geological-hydrodynamic model (GHDM) is a development that is aimed at optimizing the process of placing wells in mature oil and gas fields. In the modern oil and gas industry, where special attention is paid to production from already operated fields, traditional methods show their limitations, such as high time consumption and subjectivity of decision making. They lead to suboptimal use of resources and reduce efficiency of fields’ development. The proposed system optimizes the process of wells placement using an uneven grid, multivariate calculations and optimization algorithms, which allows taking into account the geological structure and history of fields’ development (included in the GHDM) and placing designed wells as efficiently as possible. One of the key features of the proposed system is an automated approach to decision making. Instead of experts’ subjective opinion, it is proposed to use, among other things, mathematical algorithms and hydrodynamic modeling to determine the optimal options for well placement. It allows reducing the risk of making ineffective decisions and increasing the efficiency of fieldsэ development. The use of this system will significantly reduce both the time and economic costs of developing a well layout, while helping to increase the success of production and drilling in mature fields.
