Annotation:

When modeling a complexly composed carbonate reservoir, there exist a lot of geological structure uncertainties, which are largely caused by the sharp heterogeneity of its properties. Another important feature is the variability of properties in different directions – anisotropy, which should be taken into account when creating the permeability cube of a geological and hydrodynamic model. To build a model of such a deposit, a detailed analysis of the initial data is required. The article analyzes the heterogeneity of a complex carbonate reservoir using well-known methods of mathematical statistics. To assess the lateral heterogeneity, maps of reservoir properties’ variation coefficients distribution were constructed.

In view of the reservoir’s high heterogeneity, the permeability anisotropy over the area and section was assessed. The coefficients of anisotropy are calculated, an approach is proposed for taking it into account in the process of creating a geological-hydrodynamic model of the deposit.
