Annotation:

The paper, for the first time, notes the risks which can occur when developing oil and gas fields in the Republic of Crimea. The economic sanctions of the United States and the European Union imposed against the Russian Federation in terms of trade and supplies of equipment, materials and technologies for the oil and gas industry, as well as the territorial claims of the Ukraine, significantly reduce the efficiency of the hydrocarbon fields development in the Republic of Crimea and especially offshore oil and gas fields in the Azov and Black Seas. The complexity of climatic conditions, constant changes in water temperature, directions of sea currents, ebb and flow, storms, drifting ice, etc. require the construction of expensive engineering structures (platforms) and long-term organizational and technological measures, which causes high unit costs of exploration, development and production of hydrocarbons versus the cost of exploration, development and production of oil and gas onshore. The promising deposits of mountainous and lowland Crimea for the discovery of large gas, gas-condensate and oil fields on the Kerch Peninsula: Jurassic, Lower Cretaceous and Aptian-Albian, Maikopian and pre-Maikopian deposits (works of B.I. Deneg, S.I. Ivanov, I.F. Glumov, V.L. Gulyaev, B.V. Senin, S.M. Karnaukhov, etc.) are mentioned. The potential of the Kerch Peninsula in terms of hydrocarbon production in the Republic of Crimea may exceed the potential of oil and gas production in the Caspian Sea region. As part of the implementation of the Program of joint activities and the Agreement between State Unitary Enterprises "Krymgeologiya" and "Chernomorneftegaz", it is planned to drill a deep exploration well in the Povorotnaya area for the production of natural gas and condensate.
