Gender economics in oil and gas companies

Annotation:

Gender economics in the oil and gas industry is undergoing significant changes, emphasizing the importance of gender equality as both an ethical and economic issue. Despite the fact that the share of women in leadership positions in this sector remains below 15 %, positive trends are emerging, such as the increase of the number of women in technical professions and the active implementation of gender strategies within companies. However, barriers persist, including stereotypes and a lack of support that limit career opportunities. In Russia, where the share of women in the labor market is 47,5 %, the gender pay gap and the low level of women's representation in leadership positions remain pressing issues. Recommendations include developing strategies to enhance gender equality and mentorship programs, which could improve inclusivity and productivity in the oil and gas sector.
